Weekly Update-April 12th

Dear Families,
April is national poetry month. The children have been engaging in poetry stations where they have been exposed to figurative language. We have studied onomatopoeia, hyperbole, simile, metaphor, personification and idioms.

Below are pictures of the children in their stations.

  1. Dear Alites,

Thank you for sharing this week's update. I am so excited to hear that you are celebrating Poetry Month in your classroom. Poetry was always one of my favorite genres to explore in both reading and writing workshop! Do you have any favorite poems or poets? I love Langston Hughes - you should check out some of his poems!

    Keep up the great work!

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Sinanis
