Oceanography

Dear Familes,
We had a day full of science today. First we talked about water pollution and tried to clean up an oil spill in class. We tested many different materials to see which would most effectively clean up an oil spill. We discovered there is no one material to solve this problem. Prevention is the key.

Later we headed to the science lab where we dissected squid. Remember to ask your child to show you their squid pen and beak if they dared to take it home in a Ziploc.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hello Alites,
Thank you so much for sharing your latest post with us and for all the awesome pictures! It seems like you had a pretty awesome day filled with some rich hands on learning experiences. I really loved being in your classroom during the oil spill experience - I learned so much from you. I also loved watching all of your collaborate and problem solve to figure out the best way to clean up the spill. I cannot wait to read your letters to President Obama - I am sure he will be impressed!
    Sincerely,
    Mr. Sinanis
